Meet the Management Team
Darin Walters Managing Director
Darin's job is to lead an organisation that aims to provide the best online experience for customers shopping for international flights. He has held a number of senior management roles at major Australian businesses. From 1995 to 2003, he worked at Blackmores, Australia's leading natural healthcare company, as the General Manager Sales and Marketing and then as Managing Director and CEO. More recently, he was CEO Exhibition Australia/New Zealand for the Hoyts Cinema Group. Darin also worked with The Boston Consulting Group. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School and is a graduate of the University of New South Wales.
Paul Shepanski Director
Paul brings the wisdom of over 20 years' experience in senior international management roles to Jetabroad. From the late 1980s, he worked as a consultant, manager and partner with The Boston Consulting Group. His clients were some of the region's top consumer businesses, including leaders in the retail, banking, telecommunications and travel sectors. He also served as the Managing Partner of BCG's Auckland office in 1997 and 1998. From 1999 to 2001, he was Group General Manager e-Commerce for Qantas Airways. There he led the comprehensive redevelopment of the airline's website and, with Alex Snead, initiated Asian Internet travel business Zuji.
Benjamin Chong Director
Benjamin is an entrepreneur and investor who has built Internet-related businesses for over fifteen years. In that time, he has built up a number of successful Internet businesses from scratch. They include Online Agility, an incubator and developer of online concepts, and iMega Group, an online marketing group. He has also consulted on ecommerce strategy, online marketing and technology for clients such as Volvo, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sony and Toyota. Benjamin is now a Partner at Right Click Capital. Benjamin's past accolades include being named National Young Business Person of the Year by Young Achievement Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce with First Class Honours from the University of New South Wales.
Mike Ager General Manager, Operations & Yield
Mike makes sure all of Jetabroad's services and customer bookings run like clockwork. He also ensures our profitability and efficient commercial operations, and that we're paying to attention to the small details in areas like after-sale service. His previous roles include commercial director of Princess Cruises Australia at Carnival Australia, where he was responsible for cruises in the Australasian market, and commercial director at Hoyts, where he was responsible for non-box office revenue and marketing. He loves to travel, but when he can't do so himself, he loves helping other travellers find the best value airfares.
Benjamin Ranck Chief Technology Officer
Benjamin is Jetabroad's technology guru. His passion is finding innovative software solutions to tough business problems. He began his corporate career in the US as a software engineer for Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies. When he was 25, he started ChatterSpike, a data mining company. After returning to Australia, he co-founded another tech company, All Over Geo, focused on the construction industry. He was instrumental in bringing the Founder Institute to Sydney, starting the first chapter in Australia in early 2012. He has also held a number of advisory roles to start-ups. Benjamin divides his time between Australia and the Jetabroad (Thailand) Development offices in Bangkok.
Jillian Milne Customer Support & Operations Supervisor
Jill was born to multi-task. As the supervisor of our customer support staff, she handles everything from training and rosters to solving travel problems for customers. She makes sure everyone is working together effectively for a common goal, and inspires her team with advice, encouragement and a sense of humour. Jill has been at Jetabroad since just after the business was founded, when she started as a 21-year-old trainee. Before working for us, she was a learn-to-swim teacher, helping children who were terrified of putting their feet in the water to swim unaided. Outside work, her passions are surfing and her pug-Tibetan Spaniel dog, Greg.
